town crier summer 2017 update

Hear ye, hear ye! Announcing exciting summer updates on The Town Crier!

The Town Crier is proud to announce the start of its first writer-in-residence! It’s been a busy start to the summer, readers, but new things are always brewing on the blog and parent magazine The Puritan. This July, Jacqueline Valencia will be taking over every Monday with a four-week-long column. Jacqueline Valencia is a senior literary editor at The Rusty Toque and the author of There Is No Escape Out of Time, published by Insomniac Press.

It’s the first time the blog has done a writer-in-residence and we’re very happy to have Jacqueline Valencia piloting the program. Her column will appear every Monday until the end of July.

As always, we have even more guest editors to look forward to in the second half of 2017, starting with Daniel Renton in August, while in October, Aurora Stewart de Peña is curating a month of ghost stories. You can submit your ghost story on our Submittable or read the call out for more information. Stay tuned for more call outs and, as always, exciting new non-fiction.

If you’re looking for other ways to get involved with the blog, we are always looking for reviews of chapbooks as part of the MicroLit series, as well as short reviews, interviews, and essays on literary arts of all kinds. Just send an email to towncrieronline@gmail.com with a short pitch of your idea.
