Just another day inside the offices of The Town Crier
Attention all proofreaders!
The Town Crier, the bloggy appendage to The Puritan, is seeking a new proofreader and WordPress formatter. We are one of the busiest literary blogs in Canada, updating 2-3 times weekly. A team of volunteer staff writers, Puritan Publicity Agents, and occasional contributors keep it rolling all year long. Six months out of the year, we also hand the blog over to guest editors who bring in new voices and fresh editorial perspectives.
We’re looking for someone who has an eye for detail and is proud of perfection. Previous experience with WordPress is not required. Toronto-based applicants are preferred, but we are looking for candidates from all kinds of professional backgrounds.
The blog has been keeping readers up-to-date on local, national, and international literary matters since March 2013 and grown considerably in both staff and readership since then. We’ve published over 500 posts, worked with countless contributors, and most recently handed over the keys to over a dozen guest editors. Our guest editor program has been one of our more exciting recent initiatives, and we have given the blog over to great authors and editors, including Julie Mannell, Geneviève Robichaud, Amanda Leduc, Kilby Smith-McGregor, Patrick Roesle, and many others, with more exciting guests yet to come.
If you want to become part of the most active literary blog in Canada, email a brief cover letter and CV to towncrieronline [at] gmail [dot] com. The deadline for applications is October 14th. Thank you!
